The statistics below show, that the spending in the past 10 years and including the present budget proposal is up 39.2%.

The inflation in the same period was only 27.2 %.  A lot of the spending increases cannot be justified by inflation. These numbers also do not show the decline in student population. The census data from the 2000 census shows a decline of 17.6% in the potential student population. The census only counts students who live in our school district. The actual decline in the student population is less, because we do not charge out of district students any tuition, so they come here for a free ride.
